One thing about gardening to keep in mind… Next Season. So, with that thought in mind it is very important to leave a few of your delicious crops go to seed. This is where the vegetable or fruit throws a bloom and the bloom dries. You then harvest the seeds for next season and continue enjoying the bounty.

Getting raised beds ready for planting 2012

Inspect what you expect. I’ve heard this saying in business and am beginning to believe that it also applies to gardening.

Pre-Spring seems the best time for me to get the raised beds and other surrounding areas ready for sowing. The sight of the raised beds topped up with rich soil, free of weeds holds the promise of a wonderful bounty.

When raised beds are well prepared, the hardest part of gardening is done. Everything else is up to mother nature.
